Little GEMS (Early Years)

Designed to provide the best for children aged 3 to 5

We welcome the littlest “gems” to our school where they can join an exceptional early years programme.

Our early years programme provides a structured daily routine for encouraging independency for children age 3 to 5 who are preparing for primary school. This programme is unique to GEMS Education and is based on years of international research and experience.

The Curriculum

The learning environment is carefully planned for every stage of your child’s development. We’ve created a place for active play and inquiry, which takes your child’s natural curiosity and enthusiasm to form relationships and to develop readiness skills in the following areas:

  • Literacy
  • Numeracy
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design

Also, skills such as:

  • Communication and Language
  • Physical Development
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development

Together, these areas of focus provide a well-rounded, holistic educational experience for the young children in the early years class.

Our early years educators

Our Educators are dedicated, experienced and qualified to teach your little “Gem” what they would need to know while still being flexible enough to remain interesting and engaging. Our high level of care and attention will help nurture your child and help them grow in an interesting and inspirational school environment.

An environment to learn and grow

Children benefit from the use of our school facilities; having access to indoor and outdoor play areas, technology, library resources and a full dining area. Daily outdoor play provides opportunities for children to enjoy fresh air and contact with nature and also promotes a healthy lifestyle, supporting children’s physical and mental health and development, physical activity, rest and relaxation.

As well as planned activities, the children are able to use independent learning time as part of the routine to further build confidence and independence. There is a carefully planned transition to primary school, which includes visits and getting to know the staff and school routines.

A strong partnership with parents

Choosing a nursery programme for your child is a big decision and teachers at GEMS International School, Tropicana Metropark, believe it is important to work in partnership with you to provide the best, developmentally appropriate initial learning experiences for your child in a safe, secure, happy and stimulating environment.
